I don't know if this was said, but no dual grpahics cards in SLI/Crossfire mode? Many PeeCee motherboards support it. If the Mac Pro is supposed to be a workstation, why no SLI/Crossfire?
I think I'll wait until MWSF or whenever Apple releases 10.5 and see what's out (and to save up money). I checked to see how much it would cost to buy one w/ the specs I want (bluetooth & Airport, superdrive, GeForce 4500, smallest RAM & hard drive, 30" apple display) and it cost over $7,000. That's almost half a year's pay for me (I work in a public elementary school as their computer geek so the pay's lousy, but still fun).

Agreed. A light, small, cheap Apple laptop targeted at students would be excellent, and an education iMac that's available to the public would be great too. Unlikely, but I'm with you on this one.
In other news, I expect the iMac to stay with an X1600 series card (because Apple have historically used the mid-range cards: 9600, X600, X1600 and possibly the rumored X2600s next year) so maybe an X1600 Pro and/or an XT. I also think that they should update the MacBook Pros graphics card because its a Pro laptop with a mid-range card so a Mobility X1800 would be nice.X600 Pro (iSight iMac G5 17") and X600 XT (iSight iMac G5 20") Hopefully we'll see a slight bump on the GPU.

I urge anyone who is a regular Macrumors reader to ignore anyone labeled as Newbie in threads/discussions on this tracking/location issue. Most are trolls.
I was one of the more vocal advocates on these threads way back when in the early days of the antennagate fiasco and the sheer number of trolls were mind-numbing. Of course they all went away into their trolldom caves, but some are showing their trollish faces again.
Another tip: best way to ignore trolls is to not feed them.

Sort of relieved no iPhone 5 announcements, Im firmly bogged down into a 2 year contract.
There will always be some people who are "bogged down" in their 2 year contracts. That's the whole reason I didn't buy an iPhone 4 last year, and now that it's almost time for my contract to be up, I'm looking forward to the iPhone 5. Not everyone is on the same contract schedule, so while this may have you very "glad" my 3GS is on its last leg, and I'm sorely disappointed that the iPhone 5 may be delayed past the normal 2 year release schedule.
Think about how that will screw things up as well for people who will buy the iPhone 7 in two more years if release is delayed until September if they go back to their normal release of late June. That's two-three months of having their iPhone 5 while the iPhone 7 is already shipping.
The ripple effect of moving the release date back by a few months is actually a lot larger than most people think. Especially if the push back is a one-time thing, and they go back to June releases afterwards.
A late-breaking thought I just had, would they even WANT to release in September anyway? They already do iPod updates every September, so I doubt they would want to have two large events in the same month.

I went on a drive on my lunch and received my first call through the TomTom kit today. What I can say is that the speaker clarity was good and the mic picked up my voice suprisingly good for the distance I had it from the driver's seat. I had it mounted on the windshield. However, I did find myself talking a bit louder than normal to ensure the mic would pick up everything, and it did. Throughout the conversation, the person I was talking on the phone with never asked me to repeat anything. I was able to carry on a conversation throughout my drive as I normally would in my car - hands free :p
The speaker volume on the TomTom kit leaves a little bit to desired in my opinion. I found myself constantly moving the volume switch up, but wasn't sure it was on its highest setting because it isn't a 'dial' type adjuster. Although the speaker was loud enough to hear, I wanted it a little louder. However, this may be because my car does not dampen road noise very well. I'm sure your sedan will be much quiter and the speaker volume will be adequate. The speaker quality is clear enough to hold a conversation.

Honestly, I am about to not renew. It's just not that useful. The only thing I would keep it for is the online idisk, and with dropbox or novadrive coming up with better and cheaper alternatives, I see no reason to continue to use it. However, if Apple makes it free, then they can use that as another feature of their products in general. They could sell the idisk storage, or give away 5 gigs or something, like drop box does.

I'd say that they have had a wakeup call with all of the new android honeycomb tablets coming out in competition and they are worried that the ipad2 won't look so good when there are other good options to choose from.
The HP web os is also a very potent system which offers features much closer to a real computer than an entertainment gadget.
If they wait around a year to update, they will be behind in features and specs, and the app market for android and web os will have grown in leaps and bounds as well.
Let's face it, the majority of apps for phones and tablets are rubbish and we don't need 300k android apps that are equally rubbish and pointless.
What we need are a few really good productivity apps on tablets with serious multitasking and connectivity features.
And in the end, Apple knows that the fanboys will rush out and buy a new version of whatever they are selling, regardless of how recent the last version was.A wake-up call? I was at a local apple store and they are selling the tom tom car kit already. What a rip off, because you have to pay for the app seperate. I got the griffin car mount for $20 at frys and the navigon app, works great.
I think that in the end, TomTom's iPhone Car Kit is going to be more valuable than their app, or their full blown Nav devices. Look back at my earlier post (#50) and you'll see my reasons. It's currently at $87 and will keep going down over time. It is easily the best dock/car kit out there, and I agree with you about Navigon. I have used both apps and Navigon is the easy winner.

It would be cool for them to keep the yonah in the low-end MacBook. That way with the price drop they could get back to a $999 entry-level notebook.

Overdue? How do you figure that? If anything, the entire line is being changed faster than anyone expected. And, given the faster pace, most people have guessed that the MP will arrive at WWDC. So how can it be overdue?
When Apple announced the switch to Intel a lot of people predicted this happening sooner than what was projected. The Power Macs with G5 are the only non Intel Macs. That�s why I thought they were behind the others and overdue. The sooner this transition is over the better. I think the pros will need G5 for a while because it is stable and the Adobe software is not yet ripe enough for the Intel. There is also a demand for a desktop Intel Mac, for non pros. Some people like the open architecture and would rather buy into the future and use it for over 5 or 6 years. (just speculation)

Yes they can. There is no protection under law for making money off the ineptitude of other companies. Apple is entitled, and expected to fix bugs. When those bugs get fixed, an avenue for jail breaking gets closed. Companies that see their revenue stream dry up are just screwed. That's life.
Jail breaking happens because Apple screwed the pooch on security. That's all.
