There is a lot of Apple Dick riding going on. Their is nothing wrong with that. But at some point you have to wake up and look at the rest of the world. World wide in smartphone sells Iphone leads by a large margin. World wide Smartphone OSs, iPhone is generally in third or fourth place (Depends on who made it, Some put RIM in front of iOS). But the majority of them place Android or Symbian as the top selling OS.
If many of your theories that android would disappear if the iPhone was on the same carrier holds no weight. AT&T is still selling millions of Android based phones next to the iPhone (that is was even when AT&T had a piss poor line up android phones.) Right now yes iPhone is selling more then android OS on verizon. But once the honey moon phase is over android based phones will slip back ahead in sells.
And please for the love of all thats good stop going by your personal observations. Watch me do it. In my men of honor meetings on campus I see no iOS devices and half the room has Androids. In my history class there is an equal proportion of Android OS to iOS phones. its based on where and when you look however it does not represent the entire world.
But this does my school did a survey online and we found as March 20 the Ratios look like this- Blackberry 17%, iOS 40, Android 35%, other ties in the rest. Highest selling phone: iPhone 4, iPhone 3gs, Lg Optimus 1 series of phones.

The new Ipod has no buttons, no scroll wheel, no headphone jack, no dock connector. In other words freedom from everything. The most aesthetic piece of technology ever conceived.
...
*ipod Nano will still have dock connector for now.
A non-physical hold switch would be highly impractical. I just want to be able to slip the thing into my pocket without worrying about changing the volume -- I don't want to have to use a fingerprint identification to do that.
Also, this was all posted on AppleInsider last week, why is this front-page news?

No one.. and stangely it's now ON by DEFAULT in all the MacTels I've received lately. No idea why.
I do, and so does anyone who has a classic environment of System 7 and earlier for classic compatibility reasons.
Granted you can use TCP/IP on some of these, however the reliability of such extensions on early versions of Classic leaves much to be desired. I however turn off Appletalk when I am away from my home network.

Sorry, this is a dumb question.
Whats a 16 GB AT&T iPhone cost without a 2 year plan?

Wooooow, we're straying off topic.
Back to the topic...
Don't you guys think that the iPod being overtaken is about as likely as Apple overtaking HP, Dell, and Gateway?
I just don't see it happening, Apple has a really high following when it comes to mp3 players and when people have had an iPod, they upgrade to a new iPod, not a Zune.

And immediately upon delivery of the first thousand white iPhones, 75% will end up concealed in cases...
The other 25% left caseless will be abused and scratched by their owners (mainly teenage girls). :p

What most people are forgetting is that if no iPhone releases in June, I, along with many others will need to purchase the extra AppleCare so my phone still has a warranty.

The 2.5GHz and 2.7GHz models look to be Low-Voltage 65W Core i5, which is why Apple is able to fit quad cores in the 21.5" enclosure. But does that actually mean the 3.1GHz Core i5 in the 27" is actually cheaper than the slower 2.7GHz Core i5 in the 27"? Intel doesn't sell a 2.7GHz standard voltage Core i5 unless its a custom model or Apple is underclocking the 2.8GHz Core i5, which seems like an unnecessary waste of free clock speed room.

my fear is the democrats will try to use this a political gain and that is so very wrong both to the military and for this good event.
It turns a great event into worthless BS. It was just luck of the draw that a Dem was in power when this happen and it was only a matter of time. I already am watching some people try to turn it into political gain and it makes me sick.
Only took 96 posts before someone threw the celebration into the *****ter.

Rather ironic Bush gave his 'Mission Accomplished' speech eight years ago yesterday.
Lee, I agree; major boost for his reelection campaign.
Oh yeah, the game is over. This will be seen as Obama doing what Bush could not, no matter what. Everyone at Fox News has to be crying in their beer right now.

Any professional copy shop should be able to take your sequential, 5.5" x 8.5" size pages and turn it into a booklet with binding in the middle. My understanding is that they have super-expensive machines that can do that without much effort.
I don't think you need to futz around with a non-sequential layout unless you plan to print this out yourself without the use of fancy $40,000+ copiers.

pfft, this should not be front page news, hell not even second page... just a bunch of hearsay from a CR that knows nothing about it and speculates BS.
It's funny that it was reported and it's funny seeing people treat it as credible.

do you need to have a zillion gigabites free to use time machine in a decent way?
for example, if you have a 1 gigabite film, and u delete it 'putting it in the trash, and empty trash', it's still going to be on your hard drive, taking up space, right? and will it also save your cookies, bookmarks, deleted programs,
i rarely delete stuff by accident...so i hope this can be turned off, and won't interrupt much of my normal workflow, the way things are deleted now.
You can turn Time-Machine off

if you buy headphones for the style, you shouldn't be buying pairs that cost three digits.
Wouldn't it be the opposite? If you buy them based on style, you'd have to spend more.

Seriously dude, you're in the wrong thread.
This isn't the "What Is Your Wish?" or "Random Thought For The Day" thread.
People are talking about tax returns and yes I spent about everything I made on my computer, I am a full time college student. And half the posts in this thread are about who started it and why they started it so early...

The heat is an issue, for now I can open windows and use fans but by next summer I will have to do something about it. I'm actually contemplating cutting a hole in the basement floor (concrete) and digging down several feet to place a tubing coil that could be used to cool the cpu's directly with water blocks. That would require a manifold to distribute the coolant to all of the cpu's and possibly gpu's. That might be cheaper electric wise but would take money and time to implement. Wait a sec, I just realized I already have a hole in the floor for the sump, hmmmm. Anyway I have some time to contemplate the possibilities, and I can do all of the work myself. I know some folks in the heating/cooling business that could help design a system so I will maybe talk with them at some point. Another possibility is a small window ac just for the computer room or moving everything to the basement where it is cooler anyway... but damp in the spring. Lots of possibilities - Google is my friend :D
well good luck with that. it sounds like you'll have fun tackling that job. me, on the other hand, isn't. but i'm in an apartment for now, until around july of next year. and then i'll be moving to another apartment. and hopefully soon after that, a house. just depends on my job. but until i have a house, it seems my ac will be on all the time

Not the polished app for final release I assume??
Are there any pictures of the week view? I think if its another full-screen app, it would look really cool blown up. Makes me want to get an iPad even more now...
